1. I agree that daraba

   I agree that daraba' has dfnrefeice in meaning when it appears as a phrase and when it appears as a single verb. If you look at 4:34 you will see the verb is Idribuhunna which is in: Idribu + hunna form. The same daraba usage is in 13:17 yadribu + al-haqqa . So, if we establish the fact that whenever daraba comes as a verb followed by an object of that verb, and daraba is not in a phrase form, then daraba will mean to hit'. If daraba comes as a phrase, then it can have other meanings like darab mathala' means to give an example. If we go by the logic that daraba+object means to hit the object then 13:17 would be translated as Allah hits Truth and Falsehood.I would like to understand why the same verb form followed by an object (not in any phrase form) can be translated as to hit' in 4:34 but cannot be translated as to hit' in 13:17.
